YOUR RECOVERY IS OUR PASSION

Patient-First Addiction Treatment and Care

We are the only independent practice in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia with a Board Certified Physician in Addiction Medicine. We work daily to bring patients closer to recovery, helping them to stay in treatment instead of discharging them for struggling to comply with standards.

Addiction is a disease, not a personality flaw.

Health care and other treatment centers in the area are highly regulated in West Virginia and offer similar services. The difference? We believe in patients first, and we really (really) don’t want them to give up – despite the challenges. We hope patients see our door as always open, especially in times of challenge. When things get complicated, we will strengthen our efforts for them.

RISK FACTORS
FOR DEVELOPING ADDICTION

Genetics, environment, medical history, and age all play a role. Certain types of drugs, and methods of using them, are also more addictive than others.

ADDICTION SYMPTOMS
RECOGNIZE THE SIGNS

Personality changes, lack of personal hygiene, money problems, and physical symptoms like bloodshot eyes or shaking can appear with addiction.

HEALTH RISKS
EFFECTS OF ADDICTION

People with addiction often have one or more associated health issues, including lung or heart disease, stroke, cancer, or mental health conditions.

READY TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP?

No one wants to become addicted, but it can get better. Small steps, one day at a time. This is the foundation of creating healthy habits. A few months from now, you will be proud of the person you’ve become.

About Brighter Horizons

How does treatment work?

Services are individualized, with each patient being a significant treatment team member. We guide patients to optimize the best care, serving as their foundation for the greatest potential for their success.

GETTING HELP

I am ready. What do I need to do next?

We strive to move the process along quickly. For some, motivation may be lost if the wait between asking and receiving service is too long. We promise to work with each patient to create reasonable, attainable goals while providing supportive therapy and medication to see patients succeed even through challenging times.
